This position involves a) Circulation development (in consultation with the Editor, planning and executing renewal strategies, campus promotion, gift subscription campaigns, select mailings to prospective subscribers, special events and campaigns), b) financial management (assist with annual budgets, monthly accounting, deposits, bank reconciliation, managing and projecting cash flow, audit preparation and payment of contract staff), c) other tasks as time permits (e.g., fundraising, promotion, grant writing, administration).
Geez magazine seeks to articulate and embody an alternative to mainstream corporate business practices. We have a flat pay scale and seek non-hierarchical workplace relations. At best, circulation and fundraising strategies will help build a movement of social-justice oriented people of faith in Canada and the U.S. This involves custom mailing lists and attention-getting, paradigm-shifting initiatives.

GEEZ MAGAZINE is a quarterly magazine of spirit and social action. It’s for over-churched, out-churched, and perhaps even unchurchable souls on the North American fringes of faith. In its five years of existence it has won “Best Spiritual Coverage” by Utne Independent Press Awards, “Magazine of the Year” at Canada’s Western Magazine Awards and top honours at the Canadian Church Press Awards and Associated Church Press in the U.S. Our office is located in a back room of an old church building (Knox United) in Winnipeg’s downtown, across from Central Park.
