Board Member
Kendall Waterman is a Detroit born writer, podcaster and Fintech imposter currently residing in Harlem, NY. A repeat contributor to Geez magazine, she finds joy in unpacking complex theology and finding community in fringe, post-evangelical spaces. Working in FinTech by day and freelance writing by night, she is most inspired by traveling and new ideas. She will always find time for a good conversation!

Nichola Torbett lives at the intersection of activism and spirituality. She is co-editor of and a contributor to three editions of Resipiscence: A Lenten Devotional to Dismantle White Supremacy. She walks dogs for a living and does justice work to stay alive.

Benjamin Hertwig

Benjamin Hertwig (he/him) is a writer, potter, and painter from Treaty Six, Edmonton, currently living and working on the lands of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tseil-Waututh. His debut poetry collection Slow War was published in 2017 by McGill-Queen’s University Press. He has offered writing workshops for inmates, veterans, and students across Canada.

Board Member
Kate Foran currently teaches writing classes online with Brave Writer, but her funky work history includes freelance writing projects, living in an intentional community on a farm, gardening, museum education, nonprofit communications, and historical interpretation.

Board Member
Dean Dettloff is a lecturer at the Institute for Christian Studies and a journalist in Toronto. He co-hosts The Magnificast, a podcast about Christianity and leftist politics, with Matt Bernico.

Steve Borla brings his background with the Catholic Worker and Word and World to his work for the Hartford Community Loan Fund. He lives in Connecticut with his wife Kate Foran and two daughters.
