Congratulations Katherena Vermette!

Katherena Vermette, the poetry editor for Geez magazine, has won the Governor General’s award for poetry.

Vermette won the award for her book North End Love Songs. The poetry collection was inspired by her neighbourhood in the North End of Winnipeg and the disappearance of her brother. The book was written while she listened to a a variety of heavy metal songs.
