New article online: A dash of cold water for Christian anarchism
John G. Stackhouse Jr., a theology professor in Vancouver B.C. outlines what is both attractive about anarchism to him as a Christian, and some of the issues he sees with it.
According to him every one has a ministry they do, and his is to “pour cold water on people’s heads.” He shows how in some ways anarchism sounds great, but there are definitely some things wrong with it. Particularly from a Christian perspective.
“What I’d love to see is all this Christian anarchist passion, critique, activism and creativity directed strategically to particular issues and institutions where it will be received positively, where it will actually do some good.”
