Lament along the pipeline

See a full PDF poster here. As the battle over the Northern Gateway Pipeline heats up, and as fellow Christians in Michigan lament the intrusion of another pipeline in their backyard, we gather near the Enbridge pumping station in Gretna to:
express sorrow that oil already courses through underground pipelines in Manitoba
repent of our complicity in the demand for oil
embrace the mystery of the dark night of the soul and its promise of new life.

Carbon-consumer caravan leaves North Campus (500 Shaftesbury Boulevard) at 11:00 a.m. Or start a caravan from where you live. Meet us at Gretna Bergthaler Mennonite Church at 12:45 p.m.

Bus ride from Canadian Mennonite University North Campus (500 Shafesbury Blvd) leaves at 11:00 a.m. Sign up for the bus* ($10-$20 per person, sliding scale) by emailing lament@geezmagazine.org.

Bonfire to follow at Cedar Lane Farm, Neubergthal. Bring a bag lunch and a mug.

Bitumen bus schedule
11:00 a.m. sharp – bus departs from Canadian Mennonite University North Campus (500 Shaftesbury)
1:00 p.m. – Lament on the line service
2:00 p.m. – bus departs for Cedar Lane Farm, Neubergthal for a bonfire
3:30 p.m. – bus departs from Cedar Lane Farm to Winnipeg
5:00 p.m. – bus arrives in Winnipeg

*Bus riders must be over two years old.
