John Dear dismissed from Jesuit order
Jesuit priest and well-known peace activist John Dear has recently dismissed from the Jesuit order.
Dear, who is known for is involvement in hundreds of peacemaking activities around the United States, had been involved with the Jesuit order for 32 years.
The official reason for his dismissal is his refusal to live in a Jesuit community in Baltimore. However Dear has often been at odds with the leadership throughout his time in the order over his desire to promote and work for peace.
Dear is as yet unsure what he will do now that he is no longer a Jesuit.
