Best Canadian Essay by Geez founding editor
Former and founding editor Will Braun had one of his articles from Geez selected as one of the Best Canadian Essays 2010, “The Case of the Customized Christ.”
The National Post is reprinting some of the essays, and Will’s appears in the paper today.
It originally appeared in Geez No. 16, from Winter 2009, which was our first-ever explicit analysis of Jesus in church and popular culture. (We didn’t just discover one and only Jesus, Lord of all. We discovered up to 24 different Christs, each different according to the author. For example, Nicholas Klassen talks about the hippie Jesus in his regular column, The Soapboxer.
Congratulations Will, on a great essay. -Aiden Enns, editor, Geez magazine
