On being a Bibilical literalist

Everyone is familiar with people who use Biblical literalism to condemn homosexuality. But often people cease to be literalistic quite quickly when gluttony, materialism, or divorce are the topics of discussion.

Rachel Held Evans examines this dichotomy in a recent blog post on her site. She doesn’t argue for either complete Biblical literalism, or none at all. But rather that we need to sit down and talk, and begin to remove the things that cause this dichotomy to exist, namely a lack of relationships with the other.
