A crush on Pope Francis
Author Cathleen Falsani opens her article for the Washington Post On Faith section with the words, “When I see him smiling on TV or on the cover of a magazine in the checkout line at the grocery store, I get the warm fuzzies.” And she’s not talking about a good-looking movie star. She’s talking about Pope Francis.
She admits that at first she had her doubts, along with many others, about the new Pope. But Francis won her over when he greeted the crowd in St. Peter’s Square with the Italian “buona sera” instead of the Latin script that he was supposed to read. She goes on to articulate why she has a crush on Pope Francis.
“Papa Frank is a maverick; an iconoclast. He’s even a little bit rock ‘n’ roll. Simply put, he’s lovable.”
